Hero MotoCorp, which makes the Hero brand of motorcycles in India, said January shipments rose 0.6% to 561,253 two-wheelers.

Hero, the biggest players in the market, has been losing market share to Honda. Honda has a 25% market share in the Indian market.
“Going forward, we are expe
cting to excite the market further as our new launches keep rolling out in a phased manner,” said Anil Dua, Sr. Vice President (Marketing & Sales), HMCL.
“We have already given a glimpse of our new line-up with models like the HX250R and Xtreme Sports and also futuristic concepts like the RNT model. We will showcase these, and several more, at the upcoming Auto Expo later this week.”
HMCL recently unveiled a slew of two-wheelers across-the-spectrum, including a new 250-cc sports bike ‘HX250R’, a Liquid-cooled Turbocharged Diesel Concept Bike ‘RNT’; India’s first series hybrid scooter ‘LEAP’, 110cc scooter ‘Dash’ and the all-new 150-cc Xtreme Sports.
Hero MotoCorp had sold 61,83,784 motorcycles and scooters in 2013.
